What is a fuse kit?
Fuse kits generally contain a selection of fuses and fuse accessories in some form of storage box. Generally used by engineers, mechanics, electricians and technicians, they are a convenient method of accessing suitable parts or fuses for repairs. Industries have kits in stock for maintenance and repair, usually preventing extended down time.

Common applications are automotive, labs, electrical repair and maintenance. There are also different types of fuses available such as glass, ceramic, LBC, HBC, ATC, anti-surge, quick acting, cartridge and surface mount (SMD). Kits often have mixed current ratings, materials, dimensions and tripping characteristics.The RS PRO 420-252 is a fuse kit containing 180 fuses in an assortment of different sizes and currents. The wide range of fuse types makes the 420-252 ideal for general purpose use, development labs and general maintenance jobs.
Within the kits there are 10 of each type of fuse. Each fuse type has its own compartment within the storage box which makes it really easy for you to find the right fuse for your job.
Within the top of the box lid there is information on each part, including re-ordering information for when you run out of a fuse type.

What are LBC/HBC fuses?
LBC stands for Low Breaking Capacity and HBC stands for High Breaking Capacity. Breaking capacity, sometimes referred to as interrupting rating, is the maximum current which the fuse can interrupt safely.
